This position can sit in either Ponte de Lima, Viana do Castelo, Portugal or Washington, Michigan, United States

Main accountabilities, responsibilities and deliverables:

  • Definition and ongoing development of company sustainability resp. ESG strategy, in alignment with all involved functions, target definition to contribute to
-
ZF 2040 target (CO2 neutrality) and
-
be able to report CSRD.
- Development and leadership of initiatives and long-term programs to achieve industry benchmark sustainability performance, including:

-lead of group-wide global decarbonization program for carbon neutrality by 2040, including emissions in own production (scope 1), purchased energy (scope 2) and supply chain & use phase (scope 3) emissions;
-development of a circularity program expanding current activities on waste and recycling;
-expansion of social responsibility and human rights program with special focus on the supply chain, incl. auditing
Development and expansion of global corporate carbon footprint and product carbon footprint method.
Responsible for yearly sustainability reporting incl. further improvement towards integrated sustainability reporting according to CSRD standards.
Co-development of internal and external communication strategy.
Internal and external representation of company, collaboration with customers, suppliers and industry associations (e.g. VDA, CLEPA, VDMA).
Monitoring environmental impact and advocating ways to improve it
Monitor customer-specific CO2 standards for company (as OEM supplier) and develop measure to meet customer requirements
Analyze and predict the present and future practice and watch over environmental impact of organizational practices
External stakeholder engagement (e.g. rating agencies, NGO's) to improve New DIVR sustainability performance; support of green financing and investor relations activities.
Introduction of CO2 budgets and monitoring activities to track emissions of environmentally harmful substances

Required Skills and experience/main competencies:

  • Extensive expertise in field of sustainability, decarbonization, circularity and social responsibility/human rights
Proven track record of developing and implementing an integrated sustainability strategy in a large corporation on executive management level
High communication and networking skills
