The Procurement Director will be responsible for overseeing supplier relations, negotiating prices, payment terms and delivery times knowing quantities for a certain period. Their duties include evaluating products and targets to determine what products to order, monitoring delivery times from manufacturing plants and hiring and training purchasing team and staff members to carry out purchasing tasks.

Our client is a multinational Industrial company with a plant in Lisbon looking to hire a Purchasing Director to support the operations in Lisbon temporarily.
Description
Reporting to the Operations Director your main responsibilities will be:
Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in he company
Maintain relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors
Seeking synergies whithin sit group of possible common suppliers
Seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
Supervising a purchasing team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary
Working closely with the company legal supplier/department to make sure contracts and terms are favourable
Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
Degree in Engineering, Management or relevant areas;
At least 3 years of experience as Purchasing Director;
Fluency in English;
Outstanding management skills;
Excellent negotiation skills;
Strong organisation skills;
Availability to start immediately.
