**Role Purpose**:
You will give local and Group management independent assurance over the effectiveness ofVodafone’s internal controls. You will do that through:

- Being accountable for the creation and execution of the audit plan;
- Working with all relevant stakeholders to manage the timely remediation of all internalaudit action issues;
- Managing relationships with stakeholders and assist coordinating the local audit & riskcommittee meetings.

**Main Responsabilities**:
**Identifying & reporting on, and ensuring remediation of, control weaknesses. You will**:

- Use your business knowledge and work with stakeholders to support the HoA Portugal tocreate and execute the annual audit plan that addresses the perceived key areas of risk andinfluence the shaping of the regional and group audit plans;
- Perform internal audits in line with Vodafone IA methodology and produce high quality reportswith findings that management acknowledges as relevant and is committed to address;
- Review audit reports to ensure they are accurate, fact based, concise, relevant andcommunicated with impact, leveraging in advanced Data Analytics, promoting managementperception of Internal Audit added value;
- Support the HoA in working with management to ensure that control weaknesses identifiedhave been satisfactorily remediated within the agreed timelines.

**Continually improving the control environment through managing and influencinglocal management. You will**:

- Support the Head of Audit in communicating effectively with process owners during theexecution of audits for which you are accountable and ensure that management are promptlyinformed of identified control weaknesses;
- Support the HoA to prepare the audit & risk commitee papers, brief the Chairman and localmanagement on their contents and conduct the meetings;
- Liaise with the Group Internal Audit function, enterprise risk, legal and regulatory compliancefunctions and other relevant teams to ensure timely and effective communication of potentialrisks to Vodafone Portugal control environment and share information from Portugal potentiallyrelevant to other Vodafone entities.

**Providing management with a holistic view of the control environment throughcollaboration with other providers of assurance. You will**:

- Identify the other internal and external providers of assurance in Vodafone Portugal, includingthe external auditor, and ensure regular and open communication with them and a coordinatedapproach to assurance activities;
- With the other providers of assurance, interpret the results of assurance activities and presentmanagement with deep insight about the control environment and influence their focus on areasrequiring attention.

**Adding value to Vodafone through proficiency in identifying risks and assessingcontrol environments. You will**:

- Have sufficient knowledge of Vodafone’s business to be effective in analysing and identifyingpotential risks and control weaknesses;
- Provide thought-leadership to Vodafone Portugal on matters directly related to assuring thecontrol environment through auditing;
- Keep your knowledge current and adopt a continuous learning approach to your own personaldevelopment;
- Provide insights to the continual improvement of the operational efficiency and effectivenessto the internal audit function of Vodafone.

**Ideal Background**:

- University degree: Economics/ Management or Engineering (Master is preferable; MBA is aplus);
- Internal/external audit qualification, or equivalent (e.g. CIA certification);
- +5 years’ relevant professional experience in either internal or external audit (Big4).Preferable scenario would be experience on both;
- International experience is a plus;
- Ability to work under pressure and to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels ofseniority and technical expertise;
- Positively manages stakeholder relationships whilst maintaining independence and objectivity(professional scepticism is key);
- Able to leverage on advanced Data Analytics to obtain quality insights/ conclusions;
- Attention to the detail while able to see the big picture and ensure relevance (helicopterview);
- Curious, engaged and driven;
- Financial accounting is advantageous;
- Project management experience is a plus;
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
