Job Title: Financial Controller

At Natixis in Portugal, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team in Porto. As a key member of our Finance Direction, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Certify financial statements, including balance sheets and off-balance sheet items, and identify and explain any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile economic profit and loss with accounting profit and loss on a monthly and quarterly basis, and investigate any gaps in methodology.
  • Investigate the necessity to post accounting/financial adjustments to ensure accurate data.
  • Contribute to quarterly closing controls to ensure data quality.
  • Collaborate with Market Risk teams, Support departments, and other Finance departments to ensure seamless communication and data exchange.
  • Justify accounting standard differences between French GAAP and IFRS GAAP.
  • Control internal profit and loss and justify all accounts under your responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Higher education in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, with a first professional experience in banking or audit.
  • Knowledge of accounting and bank accounting, with a strong understanding of database management.
  • Good level of expertise in Excel, Word, and Access, with some experience in Power BI a plus.
  • Previous experience in accounting expert and/or external audit, preferably in a business area.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to detect anomalies and analyze root causes.
  • Fluent English and good level of French, with a big plus for additional languages.
