Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Architect for AWS Platform
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead our Engineering team in designing, implementing, and managing a highly scalable, secure, and automated platform on AWS. As a key member of our technical leadership team, you will work closely with development teams to ensure the platform enables efficient application delivery while maintaining high availability and performance. This role is central to driving the continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure and operations.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Architecting, developing, and optimizing a secure, resilient, and scalable AWS platform to support business-critical applications;
- Leading and mentoring a team of platform engineers, fostering best practices and a collaborative environment;
- Defining and implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and automation frameworks to improve efficiency and reliability;
- Collaborating closely with developers, QA, and product teams to align platform capabilities with business requirements;
- Ensuring the platform meets the highest security standards while optimizing performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness across all infrastructure;
- Leading migrations from other platforms to AWS, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal downtime;
- Researching new AWS services and emerging technologies, providing guidance on architectural decisions;
- Participating in on-call rotation and incident resolution to ensure platform reliability and uptime.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 6+ years of experience in cloud engineering or platform engineering roles, with a strong focus on AWS;
- 2+ years of experience leading teams, providing mentorship, and fostering a culture of technical excellence;
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation;
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native architecture;
- Expertise in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and alerting frameworks;
- Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, including IAM policies and encryption standards;
- Passion for building self-service platforms that improve developer experience and operational efficiency;
- A strong command of both spoken and written English.
Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum
