Market Risk and Risk IT functions play a central role in ensuring financial stability, robust risk frameworks, and effective front-to-back risk management.TNP’s Market Risk teams support leading global banks on:Market Risk modelling and analyticsRisk IT and quantitative developmentData, reporting and business intelligenceRegulatory-driven transformations (Basel III / FRTB)Harmonisation and stability of risk and IT environmentsYour roleAs a Consultant or Senior Consultant in Market Risk, you will join high-impact client teams delivering quantitative, data-driven and technology-enabled risk solutions for major international banks.Depending on your background, you will contribute to and lead assignments covering:Risk IT & Quantitative DevelopmentDesign, development and enhancement of market risk tools and analytics using PythonSupport to risk engines, calculation chains and data pipelinesClose interaction with Front Office, Risk, IT and Quant teamsMarket Risk Analytics & Business IntelligenceMarket risk analysis on bond and fixed-income portfoliosDevelopment of dashboards, KPIs and reporting for senior managementData intelligence and risk transparency initiativesGlobal Transformation ProjectsParticipation in international projects across Europe (Paris, Madrid, Lisbon)Fast integration into existing client teams with strong delivery expectationsContribution to harmonisation and stabilisation of risk and IT environmentsAt Senior Consultant level, you will also:Take ownership of workstreams and junior team membersContribute to proposal writing and business developmentAct as a subject-matter reference within Market Risk and Risk ITWhere you’ll be basedLisbon or PortoInternational consulting environment with regular interaction with global teamsOccasional travel to client locations across EuropeWhat you bringExperience & background5 to 10 years of experience in Market Risk, Risk IT, quantitative development or consulting within global investment banksStrong exposure to market risk in CIB environments, particularly fixed income / bond portfoliosProven ability to integrate quickly into complex, existing delivery teamsTechnical & analytical skillsStrong Python skills for quantitative development, analytics or data processingExperience with market risk models and metrics (VaR, sensitivities, stress testing, scenarios)Solid understanding of market risk data, reporting and business intelligenceFamiliarity with risk systems and environments (e.g. Murex or equivalent) is a plusRegulatory & functional knowledgeGood understanding of market risk regulatory frameworks (Basel III, FRTB)Exposure to regulatory-driven change projects and model governance is valuedDelivery & consulting skillsStrong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to interact with risk managers, quants, IT and business stakeholdersClear communication skills, both written and verbalAutonomous, structured and delivery-orientedLanguagesFluent English (mandatory)Portuguese is an advantageFrench or Spanish is a plusWhat we offerIntegration into a fast-growing international consulting firm in PortugalHigh-value projects with tier-one global banking clientsA collaborative and entrepreneurial working environmentContinuous learning, certification and personal development opportunitiesCompetitive compensation package, including mobility and performance-based bonusesAdditional informationTNP Consultants is an equal opportunity employer.
