Redbridge International School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Science Teacher to provide maternity cover during the Summer Term. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and academically rigorous science lessons across Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE Coordinated Science, contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive secondary team.Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe teaching allocation will include approximately 12 hours per week, comprising:IGCSE Coordinated Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)Two groupsTeaching in line with Cambridge assessment objectives and examination requirementsCambridge Lower Secondary ScienceCombined sciences - Stage 9 Focus on inquiry-based learning, practical skills, and scientific literacyKey ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver well-structured lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum frameworksUse a range of teaching strategies to support all learnersAssess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progressMaintain clear and accurate records of attendance, assessment, and reportingContribute to a positive learning environment that promotes curiosity and engagement in scienceWork collaboratively with the science department and wider secondary teamEnsure continuity of learning through clear communication and handover where appropriateCandidate ProfileQualified teacher status, with a Bachelor’s degree in Science (or a closely related discipline) and a PGCE Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at IGCSE standardFamiliarity with the Cambridge curriculum is highly desirableOrganised, adaptable, and confident in stepping into an established programmeStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAdditional InformationThis is a short-term maternity cover role and represents an excellent opportunity to work within an international school environment offering high academic standards and a strong sense of community.A more detailed role description and timetable can be provided upon request.Place of work: Tapada da Ajuda, LisbonTo Apply:Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the role to careers@redbridgeschool.com with the REF SECSCI
