We are looking for a Java Developer (Mid / Mid+ / Senior) to join our Client’s team on a hybrid working model from Lisbon, Porto, or Braga.At Hexa Consulting, we’re more than an IT consulting company — we’re a place where tech talent grows. With projects in Nearshore, Time & Material, Service Management, and Tech Academies, you’ll find opportunities to learn, innovate, and advance your career.⚠️ Important note:Although this position targets Java developers, the day-to-day work will focus primarily on Guidewire and Gosu, which are new technologies built within the Java ecosystem.Strong Java and backend fundamentals are essential, as they are the foundation for working effectively with Guidewire solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, customize, and maintain Guidewire-based insurance applications using GosuApply strong Java and backend engineering principles to implement business logic, workflows, and integrationsConfigure and extend Guidewire modules according to technical and business requirementsDesign, build, and consume RESTful APIs and integrations with external systemsWork with distributed systems and enterprise architectures in complex environmentsParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, from analysis and design to deployment and supportCollaborate with international and cross-functional teamsContribute to continuous improvement by proposing best practices, tools, and architectural enhancementsRequired QualificationsMid, Mid+ or Senior-level experience as a Java DeveloperStrong background in Java development and backend engineering fundamentalsExperience with Spring Boot, microservices, or enterprise Java architectures (highly valued)Experience with Guidewire and/or Gosu is a plus, but not necessary (training will be provided)English and Portuguese proficiency at B2 level or higherAvailability to work in a hybrid model (3 days per week on-site) in Lisbon, Porto, or BragaSolid understanding of:Object-oriented programming and design patternsIntegration patterns and API-based communicationRelational and/or NoSQL databasesWhy Join Us?Contract Type: Permanent contract from day oneHealth Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for your well-beingHybrid Work Model: 3 days on-site, 2 days remoteContinuous Learning: Unlimited access to Udemy Business and professional trainingInternational Environment: Collaboration with global teamsCareer Growth: Opportunity to build specialized expertise in Guidewire and the insurance domain, leveraging your Java backgroundIf you meet the above criteria and are ready for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic environment, submit your CV
