The Work You'll Do:


The product owner is responsible for ensuring that market and product requirements are appropriately reflected and implemented in a finished product.

Largely an inward-facing role, the product owner is the main liaison between product management and the engineering team.

The product owner is an expert on the development process; as such, s/he often supports other groups such as implementation, and technical support/customer service.


  • What are my responsibilities going to be, more specifically?_
  • Main liaison between product management and the engineering team, understand the product strategy as defined by product management
  • Coordinate the creation of product mockups and prototypes
  • Fulfils the "product owner role" principally responsible for prioritisation and maintaining (or grooming) a backlog which maximises outcomes aligned with the product strategy (roadmap) defined by the product management for one or multiple agile development teams
  • Coordinate testing of a product, including user acceptance testing, alpha and beta program
  • Oversee and sign off on the functional spec
  • Oversee the product as it is being built by development/engineering
  • Communicate with stakeholders during the development of a product to keep them updated
  • Collect, coordinate, and prioritise bug fixes

What We Need From You:

years in related field

  • Experience in tax software and product development preferred
  • Complete understanding of the "Product Owner" role
  • Ability to balance gut feel judgement and logical analysis. Willingness to make difficult decisions
  • Ability to define priorities and lead teams, with a win everything attitude
