Job Overview

  • TE Connectivity's R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development and qualification from market definition through production and release. They assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products, ensuring quality parts, materials, and services for manufacturing processes. They conduct feasibility studies, testing on designs, and support detailed design, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing ramp-up. The teams provide all product documentation, including Solid Model, production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They also contribute to design modifications for improved manufacturing operations and product quality in various fields of expertise.

Your main tasks will be...

  • Analyze different EV system architectures focusing on battery protection and charging, evaluating benefits and drawbacks
  • Convert vehicle level architecture requirements into component level specifications
  • Assist in requirement discussions with customers and system level translations
  • Contribute to system level modeling and digital twin creation
  • Monitor technology trends influencing architectures and vehicle systems
  • Aid in defining TE product and technology roadmaps and scalability for market products
  • Propose and participate in benchmarking activities
  • Establish relationships with universities and system level design experts
  • Stay updated on industry and technology trends specific to xEV
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Product Management, Field Application Engineering, and Simulation experts

We are looking for someone with:

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Automotive Industry, preferably in Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Electric Vehicle Systems Development, particularly in Charging, Battery, and Powertrain
  • Understanding of EV system architecture related to battery management and charging systems
  • Knowledge of component specifications for vehicle systems
  • Technical understanding of vehicle HV safety system architecture and related components
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of BDU development and xEV vehicle architecture trends
  • Ability to lead technology projects in system analysis and model creation
  • Comfortable working in a global and matrix organizational setup
  • Good business acumen and a sense of urgency for innovation
  • Excellent communication, reporting skills, and experience with system simulation tools
  • Knowledge of heat propagation, thermodynamics, and functional safety requirements
