The role, within the Terminal Development team and reporting to the team manager, focuses on QA tasks for our payment application across terminals from four different manufacturers.

This technical role involves understanding our payment solutions across various industries and integrating them with leading POS and F&B systems.

You'll collaborate with Development and Solution Engineering teams, documenting features, conducting end-to-end tests, and handing over solutions. Working on multiple projects, you'll directly liaise with respective Project Managers.

Role Overview


The QA Engineer is responsible for overseeing the activities of the quality assurance personnel as well as being hands-on in testing and methodical problem-solving regarding Planet's products.


Along with key members of the quality assurance department, the QA Engineer provides strategic leadership for the direction of Planet's software testing roadmap.

What you will do

  • Quality Assurance Measures: The QA Engineer leads the creation of quality assurance measures across the business. The QA Engineer is also tasked with developing and enhancing both manual and automated test frameworks.
  • Shifting Test Left: In this capacity, the QA Engineer also actively takes part in the discovery and design phases of new software/product feature development and promotes continuous testing to guarantee an error free final product.
  • Meet Requirements: The QA Engineer ensures that validated deliverables always meet functional, design specifications and requirements of the software/products.
  • Testing: The QA Engineer regularly executes software/product tests and records the results during release cycles. He also reviews functional and design specifications to ensure that there is a full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • Documentation: The QA Engineer further develops documentation and maintains functional test cases as well as all other test assets, for example, data validation scripts and test data.
  • Analytics: The QA Engineer also has analytical responsibilities where he conducts regular analysis of software/product requirements and produces test estimations.
  • Collaboration: The role is also a collaborative one and the QA Engineer works with software/product developers in driving issue resolution.
  • Software Release: Work with software/product development teams in ensuring that high quality and timely releases of software/products into market are realized.
  • Knowledge: The QA Engineer maintains knowledge of the industry best practices, introducing the most suitable practices to the business.
Who you are.

  • 3 years of QA / software tester automation experience.
  • Experience in writing & executing project test plans and test cases based on business requirements.
  • Excellent working knowledge of QA standards, processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Estimation and scheduling experience.
  • Experience in Test Management Tool (Xray)
  • Experience in

Communication Protocols is a plus.

  • Experience in
Cucumber is a plus.

  • ISTQB Certification is a plus.
