iBET is seeking a highly motivated
Bioinformatician (PhD) to join our Biosystems and Data Science team.

This is an exciting work opportunity in bioinformatics, in a cutting-edge scientific environment involving close contact with worldwide academic and industry partners.


Role Description:

Key
responsibilities will include:


  • Establish tailored pipelines for singlecell and bulk RNAseq data analysis;
  • Setup computational environments required for RNAseq data analysis;
  • Contribute to generate highquality and informationrich datasets during experimental design;
  • Provide expert advice, guidance and training in transcriptomics to iBET scientists and students;
  • Work closely with scientists from different Labs, backgrounds and expertise within iBET;
  • Communicate resulting work in scientific presentations and manuscripts.

Admission Requirements:

Education:
Ph.
D. in Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related fields

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • At least, 2 years experience with transcriptomics (RNAseq) data analysis, including differential
gene expression and pathway/gene set enrichment analysis;

  • Handson experience in programming environments like Bash, R, or Python;
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking, with ability to breakdown and tackle complex challenges
independently and with minor guidance;

  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team;
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneously projects/tasks with different
deadlines;

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience with singlecell RNAseq data analysis will be highly valued;
  • Knowledge of computational requirements and environment setup for RNAseq data analysis;
  • Experience in functional analysis of metabolomics and proteomics data, in addition to
transcriptomics, will also be valued;

  • Experience in the supervision/mentoring of students;
  • Previous international research experience.
