iBET is seeking a highly motivated
Bioinformatician (PhD) to join our Biosystems and Data Science team.
This is an exciting work opportunity in bioinformatics, in a cutting-edge scientific environment involving close contact with worldwide academic and industry partners.
Role Description:
Key
responsibilities will include:
- Establish tailored pipelines for singlecell and bulk RNAseq data analysis;
- Setup computational environments required for RNAseq data analysis;
- Contribute to generate highquality and informationrich datasets during experimental design;
- Provide expert advice, guidance and training in transcriptomics to iBET scientists and students;
- Work closely with scientists from different Labs, backgrounds and expertise within iBET;
- Communicate resulting work in scientific presentations and manuscripts.
Admission Requirements:
Education:
Ph.
D. in Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related fields
Essential Skills and Experience:
- At least, 2 years experience with transcriptomics (RNAseq) data analysis, including differential
- Handson experience in programming environments like Bash, R, or Python;
- Strong critical and analytical thinking, with ability to breakdown and tackle complex challenges
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team;
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneously projects/tasks with different
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience with singlecell RNAseq data analysis will be highly valued;
- Knowledge of computational requirements and environment setup for RNAseq data analysis;
- Experience in functional analysis of metabolomics and proteomics data, in addition to
- Experience in the supervision/mentoring of students;
- Previous international research experience.
