We have an exciting opportunity to join the Unilabs Group tax team. The team has overall responsibility for the tax governance, strategy, and management of tax risk across the Unilabs group.

We are looking for someone to join the team who brings energy, drive, enthusiasm, and a passion for making a difference within a large and successful organisation.


In this role you play a key part in the integration of tax compliance, tax accounting and financial systems within this large multinational business.

Working closely with other members of the Tax and Finance teams both at HQ and in the countries in which we operate, you will have a critical role in ensuring the company is best placed to harness the power of technology and data to efficiently and effectively comply with the increasingly complex demands from taxing authorities across the world.


You will be a critical enabler in taking the tax function to the next level of efficiency, implementing best practice procedures, and facilitating the transformation process of the tax function.

Responsibilities

Oversee the tax fillings, compliance and reporting requirements.

Ensure that all tax filings and internal and external obligations are submitted by the due dates, as well as payments and submission to local institutions Own the preparation process of all tax returns (including but not limited to:
CIT, VAT, WHT, other local taxes, etc.) with the support of local finance team and / or external service providers.

Liaise with various stakeholders internally and tax authorities as appropriate/needed Prepare/review tax provisions and calculations, tax payments, deferred tax calculations Prepare and submit requests relating to the WHT clearances and exemptions certificates and ensure that the Companies' clearances/certificates be renewed on a timely manner.

Request tax residency certificates to competent tax authorities where required by Business Partners/ Finance teams Work closely with and support the tax team in relation to local obligations, projects, audits, etc Work closely with the Tax team and provide support on tax advisory and tax projects initiatives Support on tax audits:

working together with external service providers to track the progress towards the tax authorities, reaching out directly to tax authorities as needed/appropriate, and be a contact person for the tax auditors together with local Finance Team if appropriate, etc.

In addition, manage the process for issuance, collection, and record retention of all tax documentation where these documents are required to support current or future tax audits Support the establishment and implementation of a tax control framework as well as to identify and monitor tax controls necessary to manage potential tax risk areas Drive and be involved in projects, interact with cross-functional teams within the organization Identify areas for process, systems, and reporting improvements to efficiently and effectively meet compliance objectives Ensure processes are in place to ensure that tax law changes are monitored and associated processes and tools for computing GAAP to STAT and STAT to TAX, corporate tax calculations are maintained and that changes requires is proposed according to legislation monitored and reviewed on an annual basis You will build relationships with the country teams, helping to guide their approach to tax compliance, reporting and tax management

Requirements

Accounting and/or Tax qualified with at least 6 years' experience of working within an international environment You will either have experience in practice, working for a reputable accounting and tax firm, or experience of working in-house in a corporate environment You will be fluent in English as a minimum, but other language skills are very useful You will need excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to build relationships both in person and remotely You will have experience of tax compliance and reporting You will have strong tax accounting skills, and be up to date with latest tax accounting standards You should be comfortable in identifying and communicate the big picture, whilst still be in the details for your work to be carried out on projects or tax returns The ability to cope with a fast-paced environment is critical The ability to work independently and to motivate yourself and manage your own time and work to deadlines is an important attribute High attention to detail is a must Excellent analytical skills
