**RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP
The Centre for Social Studies (CES) - Associate Laboratory - University of Coimbra (Portugal), opens a call

• Triangular Urban Cooperation for Innovation and Sustainability" (project reference CSO-LA/2019/ ,

funded by the European Commission under the framework of the European Union's External Action Support

Program, and coordinated at CES by the Principal Investigator (PI), Giovanni Allegretti.

CES provides a stimulating intellectual environment in the domain of social sciences and humanities. The

project is part of the research line Urban Cultures, Sociabilities and Participation, that aim at analyzing and

act upon urban cultures and the modes of organisation and regulation of social, cultural, political and

economic life, taking the city as a privileged territory for active participation and for the construction of

more socially just intervention strategies.

Project Description:
INOVAJUNTOS project - coordinated by the National Confederation of Municipalities of Brazil and whose

activities started in May 2020 and will close on November 30, 2024, aims to strengthen integrated urban

development through partnerships between Brazilian, Portuguese and Latin American cities and public
- private innovation according to four thematic clusters:
a) economic development;
b) regional development and partnerships;
c) green cities and climate change, and;
d) inclusive spaces for cultural and social innovation.

It also stands out for following the global trends in society and the economy, by proposing to promote three

themes that expand on the economic and environmental agendas: innovation, sustainability and

collaboration between sectors.

Work plan, tasks:
The selected researcher is expected to have the following responsibilities:

• Support the draw up a study that will serve as the basis for a publication on the cooperations carried

out at InovaJuntos, using the concepts of the Theory of Change as a central approach.

• Support the evaluation of the project, namely, literature review, systematization of the results and

support to the final report preparation

• Support the tasks related to the project management, namely organising team meetings,

steering/governance committees, workshops and international exchanges of good practice events,

and coordinating the relations between beneficiary partners and the logistics organizers of the

transnational visits.

Workplace:
Research will be performed at the Centre for Social Studies facilities in Coimbra, Portugal. The selected

expected to move to Coimbra, Portugal for the duration of the contract.

Duration of the fellowship contract:
The fellowship will last 6 months, starting preferably during October 2023. The fellowship contract may be

extended for equal or different time periods, until the end of the project, depending on the evaluation of

the work carried out, the financial provisions and scientific needs of the project.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

i.

Preferred selection criteria and their weighing:
Applicants must demonstrate expertise on the topic of the project, by fulfilling the following criteria:

• Motivation letter describing experience in evaluating international cooperation projects
  (30%);
• Previous research experience in similar international co-operation projects and with public authorities'

networks (20%);

• Documented training in qualitative research methodologies (20%);
• Proficiency in Portuguese and English (15%);
• Availability for national and international travel (15%).

BENEFITS

j. Monthly Allowance
The monthly stipend is 1199,64 euros according with the Regulations for Fellowships at the Centre for Social

Studies and at FCT. The payment of the Voluntary Social Insurance and the Personal Accident Insurance

adds up to this amount.
