About the team:

Our Investor team has been instrumental in increasing the quality and number of investors attending our conferences. These have included top tier venture funds from Silicon Valley to Singapore, as well as local angel investors.

We've welcomed TMT leads from investment banks such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, alongside LPs from sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and family offices.

You will lead the team managing the relationship with top tier investors, maximising their engagement before, during and after Web Summit, Collision and RISE.

In essence, we're developing and maintaining relationships with leading decision-makers in tech across the globe.

What you'll achieve at Web Summit:

  • You'll lead the team which actively and selectively identify, recruit, and foster relationships with some of the most innovative venture investors, ensuring their attendance at our events.
  • You'll work closely with our Speaker team to source speakers for our Venture stage and event.
  • You'll lead sales initiatives and coach your team each day as they speak with the world's leading investors, from partners at the most esteemed funds to emerging earlystage firms. Our investors represent an extensive range of sectors, industries, geographies, and investment stage focus from preseed to private equity.
  • You'll act as a knowledgeable and visible presence in the industry and community, creating exciting proposals for our attending investors. This knowledge will also be leveraged to support internal teams.
  • You'll oversee and maintain an active and uptodate database of attending investors and prospects in Salesforce, ensuring your team approaches this tool with best practices and database analysis.
  • You'll collaborate with the Growth, f.ounders, Speakers, and Attendee Success teams to generate leads and implement worldclass attendee experience strategies to help your team reach their goals.
  • You'll also work closely with the Business Intelligence team, analysing sales funnel data to consistently improve critical sales processes.
  • You'll provide information to the Content team so they can share the success stories, opinions and capital commitments of the top investors attending.

  • You're a collaborator who engages with your internal stakeholders. You take direction and give insight with both ease and patience, and as part of a wider closeknit team.
  • You are engaging in all forms of communication and can talk directly and succinctly to industry leaders.
  • You're a naturally persuasive person who can influence and come up with creative solutions on the go.
  • You go above and beyond in delivering exceptional experiences to the people you deal with.

Skills and abilities we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a strong performance is an advantage.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the investor market, how it is helping move the world forward, and where it is going.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to engage any audience.
  • Previous experience mentoring or coaching others to success.
  • Genuine willingness to learn and drive to succeed.
  • Background in consultancy/finance or experience with startup funding and venture is desirable.
  • Keen interest in account management and business development.
