BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as MES Analyst at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide 1st level day to day support for manufacturing operations and shop floor activities including support, issue resolution and problem solving
  • Responsible for gathering business requirements and objectives for projects
  • Participate in the design, development and configuration for new and existing shop floor systems and functions needed to support critical business strategies
  • Work closely with internal resources from IT, engineering, and operations on designing, developing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining systems for efficient and effective manufacturing execution.
  • Conduct key user training regarding shop floor systems as needed to ensure the systems are being used properly and that they are meeting business needs
  • Configure the systems to enable the smooth operation and deployment of new part numbers and changes to existing product programs
  • Help to configure and prepare the system for new products that are to be built at the manufacturing plant. This will include configuring, debugging, and deploying interfaces to equipment
  • Support the roll out of upgrades in collaboration with the core Manufacturing IT team
  • Ensuring adherence to process standards and reviewing project deliverables
  • Responsible for issue resolution or escalation in a timely manner
  • Document and maintain processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; work harmoniously and effectively as part of a global team
  • Ability to work in remote and dispersed working environments such as overseas locations, cultural differences and split timezones to ensure positive interactions Fluent in English, written and verbal
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or comparable course of studies
  • Requires specific knowledge of manufacturing, preferably within electronics industry
  • Development experience with databases hosted on MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience supporting and developing reports in tools like SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, Qlik as well as web technologies
  • Development experience with web development: HTML, CSS, JS, ASP.NET, PHP
  • Development experience with multiple languages: TCL, C#, CGI, VB, SQL, Python
  • Working knowledge of VMware/Unix/Linux
  • Experience with machine connectivity concepts including the use of OPC Servers
  • Preferred experience with networking concepts and industrial protocols like CIP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.
  • Preferred experience with administration and configuration of Ignition SCADA
  • Preferred experience with the administration and configuration of SPC software
  • Preferred experience with the administration of an MES suite
  • Attention to detail and ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
