Role Overview


As a Senior Application Engineer at KIT-AR, you will be part of theteam responsible for the development of authoring tools forXR environments and will be responsible for delivery of reliable and performance user experience and functionalities.

This is a remote position requiring tax residency in and a work visa for Portugal.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy sophisticated frontend applications, ensuring robustness, performance, and alignment with user experience goals, both for web and desktop environments;
  • Collaborate effectively with UI/UX designers to translate design vision into functional software, analysing user stories and feature definitions in order to devise effective and performant implementations, with focus onLOB and immersive 3D environments.
  • Produce robust and reliable code, and identify opportunities to improve collaboration and development processes.
  • Work closely with backend, UI/X and process teamsto create seamless, integrated user experiences.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by keeping abreast of emerging frontend technologies and methodologies.

Required:

  • 5+ years experience in web development using frontend , CSS, HTML) and backend ), with a thorough understanding of their core principles;
  • Deep experience in modern React.jsdevelopment workflows (such as Flux or Redux)and data structure libraries (such as );
  • Experience with Typescript and/or the newer specifications of EcmaScript, modern frontend build pipelines, and tools like Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  • Experience in interacting with APIs (REST, GraphQL), authentication (JWT), and structured logging;
  • Ability to identify and articulate design requirements, design decisions, and impacts upstream and downstream;
  • Ability to produce maintainable code, following bestpractices;
  • Tax residency and work visa in Portugal or the United Kingdom;
  • Proficiency in English (C1+);

Bonus points:

  • Experience in or in building crossplatform desktop applications;
  • Experience in TailwindCSS or similar frameworks;
  • Experience in CI/CD systems;
  • Experience in UI Kits containing charts, grids, and hierarchies;
  • Experience in 3D processing (basic concept) and use of Babylon.
