The AMEC Drafting team based in our Lisbon office keeps growing and we are looking for new talent to join our team, from an entry level up to a senior level of experience


The Drafting team is responsible for producing drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice and in compliance with company drawing office procedures, within a regional / multinational scope.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide design drafting skills of a high quality and efficient output for all project work undertaken.
  • Participate in reviews and development of departmental procedures and work methods.
  • Interface with Drawing Office Supervisor to ensure CAD deliverable schedule is being met and budget is on track.
  • Contribute to development of standard project deliverables and efficiencies.
  • Help ensure efficiency and quality by producing drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice.
  • Operate within standardized engineering policies, processes and systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards used in the drafting work carried out.
  • Liaise directly when instructed with Project Engineers on installation drawings and sketches.
  • Communicate with other Drafters to ensure knowledge sharing, best practice and competence.
  • Help ensure engineering compliance, so that Subsea 7 can deliver quality engineering solutions and avoid errors.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Technical or Higher Education preferably related to Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
  • Solid communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Good knowledge in the use of AutoCAD and Inventor (any type of contact with these tools will be valued for entry level profiles).
  • Good knowledge in design/drafting of steel structures (any type of contact with these tasks will be valued for entry level profiles).
  • Good working knowledge with other nontechnical software, e.g. MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work within a diversified team.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and deliver work accordingly to defined deadlines.

PERSONAL SKILLS

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Creative problem solving able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working.
  • Sound communication skills able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously.
