Job Description:

Project:
Simultaneous detection of multiple laser wavelengths at speed

The achievable sensitivity and precision in scattering-based measurements typically depend on the stability of the lasers used, making it vital to monitor their performance in a device.

This project aims to implement and test a low-cost and robust approach to monitor and control the wavelength of the used lasers able to resolve single longitudinal modes.

The ideal intern would be interested in the challenges associated with optical engineering, which typically involve electronics, optical design and alignment, mechanical design, and the ability to adapt code to collect and analyze data.

Tasks:

• Design and build gratingbased wavelength detection
• Write software as required to enable the analysis of the acquired data.
• Test the performance and reliability of the developed wavelength monitoring
• Implement feedback mechanisms to control the operation of the used laser.

Qualifications:

Master in Physics Engineering or similar

Knowledge in optics and photonics

Must haves:

• Great initiative and drive to make things happen
• Must be a passionate problemsolver with a proactive spirit
• Experience working within the Google Workspace
• Available to complete at least 6 consecutive months of internship with a minimum of 15 work hours per week.
• Not being employed during the internship
