DIREÇÃO OTIMIZ. E GESTÃO ATIVOS HIDRICOS department aligned with EDP Produção is hiring an
Electrical Engineering (Hydropower Engineering and Optimization).

  • Team up in studies for finding and delivering technoeconomic evaluations of hydro asset optimization projects.
  • Make engineering studies (preliminary, basic, and for licensing) in the field of electrical engineering, including technical specifications, budgeting, and project planning for hydropower projects, whether greenfield or involving significant changes in existing power schemes or assets in operation.
  • Assume technical oversight, within the domain of electrical engineering, during the execution of hydroelectric projects in the context of Focused Growth, including detailed supervision for design, manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning.
  • Provide technical support, in the field of electrical engineering, for studies and interventions in hydroelectric developments throughout their life cycle.
  • Offer technical support in electrical engineering for projects nonrelated with hydropower, including initiatives involving other power generation technologies in industrial or innovation environment.
  • Supervise specialized tests for characterizing and diagnosing installations, systems, or equipment.
  • Procurement management for studies or other services and supplies in the field of electrical engineering.

What we are looking for:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, preferably with specialization areas of Energy or Automation.
  • Mandatory professional experience in this field of expertise, with a minimum of 2 years (as an Engineer) and a maximum of 10 years.
  • Knowledge of electric power systems in hydropower plants is highly valued, including generators, generator motors, generating and transmission voltage installations, automation systems, main transformers, transmission and distribution grids, auxiliary systems, and security and safety systems.
  • Awareness of the current legislation, regulations, and norms related to the aforementioned topics is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools is mandatory, and knowledge of MATLAB/SIMULINK is a plus.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Portuguese and English.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various Hydropower Plants in Portugal.
  • Collaboration and networking skills, ability to handle pressure, agility and speed, curiosity and selfdevelopment, good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Registration started with the Portuguese "Ordem dos Engenheiros".
