The Pastry Chef will operate and manage the pastry section of the kitchen and liaise with the executive and sous chefs to ensure a successful working environment.

You will also Prepare ingredients and handle baking and other kitchen equipment, you will Create pastries, baked goods, and confections, by following a set recipe.

You will Develop new recipes for seasonal menus and decorate pastries and desserts to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.

You will meet with customers to discuss details and planning of custom-made desserts and pastries for special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries and weddings.

You will monitor the stock of baking ingredients, order new supplies, ingredients, and equipment for the pastry section, when needed, and within budget.

You will also ensure that your section of the kitchen adheres to safety and health regulations as well as supervise and train staff members, when needed.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Postsecondary training at a culinary institution
  • Passion for baking, culinary creativity and teamwork.
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastrymaking, baking, or relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry and culinary experience
  • Eye for detail to achieve operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
