Job Description:

Team presentation and main goal:


As part of the Finance Direction, you will integrate the Financial Data Integrity department (FDI) which is in charge of the labelling of financial data for CIB activities of Natixis (balance sheet and off-balance sheet).

This department counts about 100 people with a target to be bilocated (40 in Porto and 60 in Paris).

You will join a team of 7 people in Porto.

As a Financial Data Analyst, for of a major French banking institution with international dimension, you will:

  • Assist with accounting closing work;
  • Participate of the data monitoring for all financial production activities of the CIB (Equity, Commodites, Financing or Fixed Income activities), i.e. data acquisition, discrepancies analyses, appropriate corrections, automation of quality assurance processes.


You will be in contact with the Operations department (middle and back offices), the other teams of FDI & the internal Finance partners, and Finance IT teams.


Perimeters:

The main tasks are organised along two axes:
In a first step, Assistance with accounting closure work:

  • Anticipating and ensuring the reliability of monthly and quarterly closings via weekly reconciliations on all perimeters (bonds, shares, commodities, financing, rates, derivatives), analysing the discrepancies between accounting balances and inventories and adjusting accounting or inventories;
  • Ensuring a system of complementary manual entries in the event of disquality of the closing processes such as late entries, adjustment of BO entries (basket swaps, collateral securities);
  • Ensuring and adjusting irregular accounting positions on the accrual's accounts, leading to an abnormal RWA position, on a monthly basis;
  • Automating of manual processes of data retrieval & control, in a context of efficiency and with an expectation of digital approach;
  • Writing and updating of operational procedures.
In a second step, Monitoring data at the granular level to ensure the quality of the data required for all financial reporting or indicators (ALM, Solvency, Liquidity, FINREP,

):

  • Controlling the data acquisition & treatment on the Financial chain inputs, along the flow;
  • Developing and standardising data controls (especially: completeness, existence, accuracy, consistency or freshness controls);
  • Detecting anomalies & analysing the root causes;
  • Reporting, alerting the management and the internal partners (accounting & ratio teams);
  • Defining remedial actions;
  • Writing and updating of operational procedures.

Additional information (schedule, possible travelling, internal and external interactions, etc.):

  • You will be part of a bilocalised team with a local manager and a functional manager Paris based, with regular interactions Paris team;
  • The ability to develop a network within the various teams of the Natixis ecosystem, and an aptitude for collaborative and group work are key factors of success in this position.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred educational background or University/School**:Bachelor's degree in finance, with a first professional experience in the finance department of a mid / large cap company or audit;
  • First experience in accounting;
  • Knowledge of financial products;
  • Ability to retrieve & analyse data, and use data viz & data prep tools.
