What you will be doing


We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Tech Team.
We work cross-functionally, and you'll actively be involved in collaborating on both the design and implementation of systems that aid in the detection of financial risks.

These systems require high-performance throughput for both real-time and batch processing, calling for scalability to be at the forefront of our engineering practices.

As an Engineering Manager, you will

  • Take ownership for your team, being responsible for current team members growth and development, plus hiring and onboarding new team members
  • Create a positive environment where your team members thrive to deliver best outcomes and innovations
  • Be a role model for your team, mentoring and coaching them, whilst having a learning mindset yourself, being open to new ideas and technologies
  • Set the direction for your team and take accountability for tech decisions
  • Work alongside with your product counterpart, being accountable for delivery against the roadmap
  • Collaborate, both within your team and across the tribe to ensure your team's implementation meets industry standards
  • Report to the Director of Engineering, and will work with the other Engineering Managers in the tribe. Working as a group, you will own crossteam initiatives and improvements.

About you
As an Engineering Manager, you will have

  • Experience of managing and growing high performing engineering teams
  • Solid knowledge of engineering best practices, including architecture and testing
  • In depth experience with a JVMbased language.
  • Experience designing and building microservices
  • Good communication and writing skills including experience writing technical documentation
  • Have worked with product and commercial organisations.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience of AWS desirable, experience of Docker/Kubernetes good to have
  • Experience of working in a startup/ scale up environment

As an Engineering Manager, you will contribute to proving outcomes that directly impact our customers and will be involved in the exploration and proposal of product features.

You will possess a deep understanding of how we deliver iterative value while maintaining a high level of quality.

Our Tech Stack


Our multi-cloud stack is organised around Java/Kotlin, Go, or Python for our backend languages and TypeScript/ES6+React for our frontend stack.

Finally, we also use an event-sourcing model powered by Kafka for our communication bus and gRPC for our intra-service communication protocol.


We have a strong emphasis on engineering excellence and strive to ship the best possible code and the best possible solutions to our customers.
