Why this job is important

This is a new role. Reporting to the Group Technical Accountant, within our changing finance organisation.

With the recent change from public to private ownership, we are building a future-fit Group Finance function to support the evolution of our business under the ownership of our private equity parent, Bain Capital.

This is a crucial role accountable for the financial reporting of the Group's holding companies and treasury entities.

What you'll be doing

  • Coordinate with subsidiary companies and treasury department to support the financial reporting process of intercompany funding, cash pooling, and cash repatriation.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for holding companies and treasury entities, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Supporting the group reporting and local statutory reporting requirements of the Kantar Group's holding companies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company law.
  • Liaise with the audit team and advisors on scope, goals, and timing.
  • Lead and ensure compliance with internal review control for accounting transactions and perform the necessary procedures and documentation.
  • Support the monthly consolidation process ensuring accurate, efficient and timely reporting of group results; track and ensure adherence to timetable by business units.
  • Support the periodic (monthly, quarterly and annual) external financial reporting processes to produce the annual statutory accounts and reporting to private equity owners, smaller investors, and lenders.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of key balances and preparation of supporting schedules for group reporting.
  • Support the external and internal audit processes, ensuring a smooth and effective process and implementation of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Provide support on accounting policy and other technical accounting matters.
  • Lead or support ad hoc Group Finance related projects as required.
The skills & experience you'll need.

  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Fluent English speaker, accurately able to read and write English and to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and management
  • Relevant experience working in a similar role within a Global Business Services (GBS) Organisation
  • Good knowledge of IFRS, and understanding of Dutch GAAP, UK GAAP and LUX GAAP would be desirable
  • Audit training and industry exposure would be desirable.
  • Top level Excel skills
  • Comfortable handling key relationships with external finance parties and service providers.
  • You should enjoy working at pace with hard working individuals and teams
  • A proven ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
  • A high standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data
  • A flexible approach and open to change
  • Willingness to work flexibly across geographic time zones during peak periods such as period end
