We are searching for a new team member to boost our Cost Engineering Team in Ponte de Lima, Portugal

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate Target Costing and Target Cost Achievement for assigned projects;
  • Assist Sales with Cost Disclosure including Cost Breakdowns in front of the ZF customers;
  • Proactively manage Design-to-Cost and Cost-Down-Initiatives, and evaluate commercial aspects of technical concepts/designs;
  • Provide Cost transparency on Product level, monitor, report, and forecast for Design-to-Cost/Target Cost Achievements;
  • Support Benchmarking and tear down workshops with commercial evaluations;
  • Create, verify, and provide Product (and component) Cost calculations at Best Practice level;
  • Act as the first point of contact for consulting support, and act as an interface/sparring partner for internal stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Operations, Purchasing & Engineering);
  • Develop best practice procedures, and establish a knowledge database.

Required skills and experience:

  • Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering/MBA/Business Engineering/Industrial Engineering (Bachelor, Master, Diploma);
  • 3+ years of experience in similar roles;
  • Distinct cost awareness and solid knowledge of various manufacturing processes and components;
  • Project Management experience with a holistic process understanding and a structured approach to tasks;
  • Effective communicator, adaptable, self-driven, and capable of collaborative work on independent initiatives;
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English. Additional languages are a plus.
