Your Role As the Data Science Manager at our location in Porto, Portugal, you'll lead a team in developing cutting-edge software infrastructure crucial for Semasio.
Your expertise in both data science and software engineering will drive the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance systems.At a disruptive and crucial time in the advertising technology sector, we need a leader who can bring fresh ideas and can help us deliver the highest quality execution.
Day to Day Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, who are responsible for building the core technology behind the Fyllo audience products, guiding them in software engineering best practices and fostering innovationCollaborate with the Senior Director of Engineering and SVP Product to build a detailed and cohesive data and engineering roadmap that aligns with business objectives and product requirementsDrive strategic initiatives to leverage data effectively and oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, from ideation and experimentation to deployment and monitoringProvide technical leadership, staying updated on emerging technologies and implementing the latest tools in ML/AI to enhance our Ad Tech solutionsOversee the quality and reliability of software architecture, implementing rigorous testing methodologies and ensuring robustnessCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data science opportunities, integrate data sources, optimize algorithms and enhance overall system performanceCommunicate complex technical concepts and findings to diverse stakeholders, translating data insights into actionable business recommendationsPreferred Experience Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.
D.degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field8+ years of experience with data science, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment (with a focus on advertising technology or related domains would be a plus)Expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, NLP, MLOps and proficiency in programming languages (Python/R, SQL, etc.)Experienced in building and leading high-performance data teams to deliver impactful resultsCapacity to break down complex and big projects into smaller parts that deliver incremental valueStrong business acumen with the ability to align data initiatives with organizational goals and client needsExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teamsA passion for building a strong engineering culture, fostering innovation, and promoting a collaborative work environmentStrategic mindset and ability to keep up with and anticipate industry trends and technology advancementsPerks & Benefits Competitive salaryHealth InsuranceFlexible working hoursRemote work optionsHalf-day fridays, to start your weekend early25 days paid time off + extra days offA fun, global team and a flat structureTeam activities and volunteering daysA spacious office, right in the center of Porto (close to Casa da Música)And all the other usual things – free snacks & drinks, team activities, office events, etc.
