About the role:


The Head of Information Security at MarTrust is a pivotal figure responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our financial platforms and customer funds.

This role focuses on protecting against cyber threats, managing risks in cloud environments, and maintaining operational resilience in our financial services.


You will work on products such as:

  • Multi-currency payroll and supplier payment solutions for maritime customers.
  • Multicurrency ewallet with virtual and physical cards for seafarers.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Information Security Strategy and Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy that aligns with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements, operating as a oneperson team. Continuously assess and update the information security policies and procedures to adapt to new threats and regulatory changes.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats in the organization's systems and processes. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, PSD2) and adhere to industry standards like ISO 27001 and NIST. Develop and manage effective risk mitigation strategies and controls, performing both planning and execution. Select and manage external vendors for penetration testing and vulnerability identification
  • Policy Development and Training: Develop, implement, and maintain uptodate information security policies and procedures. Conduct security awareness training for all employees, ensuring they are knowledgeable about security best practices and protocols.
  • Vendor and Third-

Party Security Management:
Assess and oversee the security aspects of third-part. vendors and service providers. Ensure that partnerships and external engagements comply with the organization's security standards.

Reporting and Communication:
Regularly report to senior management on the status of information security, including incidents, compliance issues, and ongoing initiatives. Serve as the primary contact point for all information security-related matters within the organization.

  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek ways to improve the organization's security posture, including conducting regular security audits and reviews.

This is what they need from you:

  • At least 7 years experience in tech, 5 years in technical security roles
  • Experience in financial services, fintech or banking products is an advantage
  • Information Security Management: Profound knowledge in managing information security practices, including risk assessment, threat analysis, policy formulation, and incident response.
  • Cybersecurity Technologies: Proficiency in modern cybersecurity technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, data encryption, and other defensive mechanisms
  • Regulatory Compliance:
Deep understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR, PSD2, ISO 27001, and NIST cybersecurity standards. Experience in ensuring compliance with these regulations.- Network and

Strong background in securing network architectures, operating systems, databases, and other technology systems.
