Job Description:


Heavy Duty Equipment Driver, drive and control heavy construction equipment, such as bulldozers, forklifts, dump trucks, and hydraulic truck cranes.

This job involves tasks such as ensuring the machinery is operated safely so as not to injure anyone or cause damage to buildings, making minor repairs when necessary, and recording a daily report of inventory and completed tasks.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman.
  • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Operating Heavy Equipment Operates pneumatic or tracktype vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to dig and lift bulk materials. One of the primary tasks of H.D. Equipment Driver is operating heavy equipment, ensuring that the operating safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • A key part of this job is to ensure that company equipment and any materials are well maintained, kept clean, and stored appropriately at the end of each day. This includes checking the filters and ensuring that equipment is greased to keep it working effectively.
  • H.D. Equipment Driver keep the work area as tidy as possible, and ensure the equipment is clean by collecting any scrap or excess materials, and disposing of refuse.
  • H.D. Equipment Driver ensure that any necessary work reports and documentation is prepared and filled out at the end of each day, and handed over to the supervisor for their approval. These may include providing recommendations for how to improve or maintain environmental performance.
  • Performs other duties and activities as directed.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum four/five years of directly related work experience in equipment operation
  • Certification of training is required for each type of Equipment
  • Must be able to read and understand equipment specifications, tables, and charts.
  • Required to have a Physical, Eye, and Audio exam at least once per year.
