Responsibilities - your mission

Costing is a key enabler for Airbus to offer the most competitive aircraft for new developments, optimizations and services.

On the basis of technical and financial expertise combined with empowerment and team work, the team works as a consultant and business partner to bring cost awareness and actionable scenarios across the E2E business cycle, enabling balanced decisions and supplier negotiations with a high degree of confidence.

Our team

  • Helps decide corporate product and process strategies as they are formulated
  • Is involved early in all new aircraft / product developments
  • Is a key player in achieving competitive pricing agreements with aerostructure suppliers
  • Liaises with all levels of management in Airbus and with external suppliers


Currently, the Aerostructures Costing Team is undergoing a major transformation enabled by digitalization and data management which is having a significant impact in the relationship with our customers (more business partnering and enabling), our methods and tools (cost modelling, references, digital tools) and our people skills and competences.

To support this transformation, Aerostructures & Systems Installation Costing team has the need for Costing Performance Monitoring support.

Key Objectives

  • Responsible for delivering reports to Procurement Commodities and Programme on current project status, planned capacity and potential support needs using the PS/ PM Tracker and COMPass (when its implemented). Within the reports, create the KPIs as per functional requirements using tools from Gsuites.
  • Produce functional monthly reports, formatting costing dossiers, manage presentation standards, formatting communication packs for customer/ partner reviews
  • Support the functional domains by monitoring subcontractor spend, managing work flow through buyside, produce reports predicting end of year forecast cost predictions
  • Responsible for managing the storage of completed dossiers into the FCC library.
  • Capturing the lessons learned reports and produce monthly summary reports highlighting dossiers completed, value of potential savings identified, amount of man hours spent on dossiers, produce functional ROI summary
  • Develop reporting standards and activity trackers to support evolving business needs such as eAction/ ZEROe, Drive Financial Performance, CAPRI, ASA Creation.
  • Produce functional monthly reports.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with Airbus Ethic and Compliance Requirements, act with integrity and in a business neutral manner.
Key Tasks & accountabilities

  • You will engage in Performance building and reporting tasks across the aerostructure and system installation perimeter with an initial focus on procurement support, new programs, derivatives, major developments, modifications, and design to cost/value topics.
  • Report on Alignment/ Nonalignment of team resources to the current priorities and resource planning for future Recurring and Non-Recurring Cost (RC and NRC) related work to be performed.
  • Identify any gaps in functional resource planning
  • Produce management reports on functional planning versus actual performance. Highlight risks and gaps.
  • Produce Cost Reports on Planned versus Actual Subcontracting spend. Raise buyside instructions for external packages.
  • Manage archiving of completed dossiers into the costing archives.
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of best practice industrial cabin manufacturing processes and their costs: all types of raw and equipped sandwich parts and monuments plus detailed parts manufacturing of metallic and plastic parts as well as harnesses. Basic knowledge of systems and modules installation in the fuselage
  • Knowledge and understanding of related jigs, tools and machines.
  • Experience in industrial concept development and evaluation
  • Team player with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Good communication and presentation skills at all levels
  • Strong ability to interact and Influence
  • Very good strategic and analytical skills incl. data analysis
  • Basic experience in project management
  • Language Skills: Negotiation level of English
