The Work You'll Do

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and scalability of our cloud-hosted applications. As an SRE at Sovos, you will work closely with our development and operations teams to build and maintain the infrastructure and tools needed to keep our services running smoothly.

More specifically you will:

Monitor and maintain the stability and performance of our SaaS applications hosted on AWS. Develop, deploy, and manage automation tools to streamline and enhance operational processes. Collaborate with development teams to design and implement reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions. Proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact our customers. Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for critical incidents. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure and operational processes. Implement and manage observability solutions, including logging, monitoring, and alerting systems. Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical incidents and outages. Continuously improve and optimize our CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, safe, and efficient deployments. Advocate for best practices in reliability, performance, and security within the engineering teams.

What We Need From You:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role. Extensive experience with AWS services and cloud architecture. Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (, Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices (, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab). Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog). Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards preventing and resolving issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Experience with regulatory compliance and tax reporting applications prefered. Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a cloud environment. Team mentality and willingness to share knowledge and ideas. Fluent in English.
