Function Overview:


Planet's Product & Technology team have a world class vision for pushing product innovation which helps reinforce Planet's position as a revenue generating payments partner across the Retail, Hospitality, Food & Beverage and Parking verticals.


Planet operates a unique single payments platform that includes acquiring, processing, digital wallets, VAT refund and currency conversion services to deliver a better customer experience.

Our Product & Tech team comprise of over 750 employees globally who all help drive the single platform vision, a key differentiator to other payment platforms in the market and deliver technical excellence both internally & externally for our customers.

Role Overview:


As Product Manager, you will be responsible for one of our Planet hospitality products - for example in the areas of Cloud Solutions property management software.

Your scope of responsibility ranges from the planning and coordination of development to market launch and handover to our support team.


Even after the introduction phase, you will remain the permanent contact person e.g., regarding system updates or when introducing new features.

You design new features and product versions based on the feedback of our customers and your own market observations. We use the Atlassian Stack (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence) and work with agile development methods.

What you will do:

  • Design, plan and implement new product versions and functionality and updates together with UI /UX designers and software development teams.
  • Defining and preparing specifications and requirements for the product
  • Work with the development team to create both high level and detailed estimations to allow for the planning of the development in line with strategic initiatives.
  • Supporting the team leader with roadmap planning and prioritization of tasks
  • Carrying out, collecting, and evaluating market and competitive analyses, customer, and support feedback, as well as reviewing user behavior to continuously develop and enhance our products.
  • Presenting results and milestones to decisionmaking committees.
  • Planning and implementing training courses for our business partners and internal support, documentation, and sales teams.
  • Regular communication with development, support, documentation, and sales teams.
  • Supporting the documentation team with the creation and maintenance of user documentation, tutorials, and user helps.
  • An innovative thinker always questioning the approach to the functionality and working to simplify complex tasks.
  • Attending trade fairs and client meetings, as well as executing product presentations.

Who you are:

  • A completed degree in the hotel or tourism industry or a comparable apprenticeship
  • Several years of professional experience in the hotel and tourism industry at an international level.
  • Previous experience as a product manager gives you the edge but is not a must.
  • An understanding of product management processes, agile methodology, ideally holding an agile certification.
  • A high level of interest and very good understanding of information technologies and digitalization and hospitality workflows.
  • Handson mentality, as well as a high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently in a structured manner.
