WHAT YOU WILL DO


We are looking for a Senior Associate Law to join our dynamic team in our Amgen Capability Center Portugal (ACCP) based in Lisbon, Portugal.


The Senior Associate Law will assist with the day-to-day management of legal matters associated with Amgen's operations in a group of countries.

This dynamic position will provide broad-based legal support services to Amgen's commercial, medical and related business functions in a group of countries.


  • Provide legal advice on commercial matters to ensure that the operations of Amgen's affiliates in multiple countries are conducted within the limits prescribed by law and local industry regulations.
  • Assist in the negotiation and drafting of all contractual engagements, including HCPs and service provider agreements.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to Amgen affiliates on matters related to clinical activities, corporate law, data privacy, and other relevant legal areas.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable laws and regulations in relevant countries and keep current with changes that may affect the relevant affiliate's operations.
  • Carry out a review of promotional and nonpromotional material for compliance with applicable laws, regulations and/or industry codes of compliance.
  • Build and maintain close contacts and relationships with relevant affiliates' stakeholders and other advisers (e.g. local legal support, compliance, privacy etc.).

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU:
Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with a European OR common law background.
  • Proficiency in business English and/or French/Italian/Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 plus years of legal practice at a law firm and/or experience working in a legal department of a company in a regulated industry.
  • Experience in the life sciences sector is a plus. Experience in other regulated industries will also be considered.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytic, legal drafting, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of ethical judgement, maturity, strategic planning, problemsolving and decisionmaking.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while remaining selfaware of one's own limits and when escalation of matters is required.
  • Ability to work independently and also with, and presenting to, crossfunctional teams and clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization, a positive attitude, strong commitment to ethical conduct, thoughtfulness as well as collaboration and creativity.
