Job Description:

The Instrumentation Supervisor is a role responsible for managing the manpower subcontractors or in direct hiring, executing the instrumentation construction activity under the responsibility of Instrumentation Superintendent.

He is responsible to supervise the compliance with HSE requirements and quality control policies and standards.

Instrumentation Supervisor role is primarily responsible for the supervision in all scope of work of instrument section on construction site.

Supervise and execute the proper installation of all instrument devices & equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure to complies with all Company Policies, Procedures and Regulations in terms of Health, Safety, Environment, Security and Quality.
• Provides leadership to cause the creation of organization to ensure the work execution in compliance to the Quality and project specification.
• Coordination of all the activity starting from the project material receiving up to the completion of the erection activity.
• Organize and manage all instrumentation activities on site, coordinating the activities of the foreman up to the helpers.
• Reporting utilizing the applicable forms all the activities to the Instrumentation Superintendent in terms of progress, manpower, equipment's status.
• Define, on time, in collaboration with the Instrumentation Superintendent, the needs in terms of quantity and quality of resources (personnel, vehicles and materials) on site, logistic structures (reception and storage points for materials, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities Details:

• Verify that all the personnel are certified to execute specific task and all related certification FTW and training required to enter on site.
• Assure the establishment of the construction team (foreman, up to the helpers) according to HSE Company (and Clients) requirements and the quality assurance procedures.
• Ensuring that both the health and safety project plans are apply on site.
• Apply the waste management procedure collaborating with the HSE department.
• Apply the stop work policy toward each project phase for activities under his responsibility or not.
• Ensure that equipment and tools to execute the project activities are complying to the project activities in terms of quantities and quality.
• Use of human, material and tool resources on the construction site, establishing the daily schedule of activities with the Foreman in order to maximize integration between the various work areas
• Verify, on time, with the collaboration of the HSE department the permit to work.
• Organizing all workers (subcontractor or direct manpower) to performing the activities as required in accordance with project drawings, procedure.
• Ensure that each part of construction team (up to the helper) is capable of performing their allotted scope of work.
• Receive and apply from the Instrumentation Superintendent the instrument vendor/project documentations and verify:

o Method statement
o Quality/Quantity of the consumable material.
o Quality/Quantity of the project material.

• Collaborate with the Material Controller and Qa/Qc dept. for the inspection and test activities.
• Collaborate, on time, with Material Controller to receive the material required for the erection and ensure the quantity and quality.
• Manage the transportation on site of the project material and monitor the Hand-Over to the foreman or Subcontractor.
• Supervise the integrity and maintenance of equipment under the using of direct manpower or subcontractor.
• Ensure that all the personnel (subcontractor or direct manpower) are certified to execute specific task.
• Verify that the site area/s is/are ready in term of:

o Availability for temporary storage project material and eventually preassembling.
o Interferences with other discipline/contractors/operation activity in case of existing plant.

• Verify the status of:

o Steel structures are released for instrument cable tray installation.
o Cable trays are ready and released by Qa/Qc for cable pulling
o Civil activities are completed and certify
o Piping activities are completed and certify and ready to execute the instrument installation.
o Equipments are released for instrument installation

• Supervise the Instrument Calibration, Installation and tools (for Instrumentation activity and for other discipline).
• Manage daybyday operational aspects of instrument erection activities coordinating the activity according to the sequence and priority.
• Prepare the report (Manhour spent, equipment and tools) required by the Instrument Superintendent for the contract project activity and for any extra work required by Company.
• Collaborate with the other supervisors (Civil, Scaffolding, Steel Structure, Piping, Electrical, Painting/Insulation, Precom. etc.) to organize the activity on site to avoid interference that creates dead times.
• Collaborate with the Instrumentation Superintendent during all project phase, to identify and solve any interference detected on site.
• Collaborate with the QA/QC department and ensure the certification of the activity executed during all project phases.
• Prepare testing activities and the necessary tools/material and collaborate with Qa/Qc department for certifications and documentation required.
• Supervision of punch list items for its closure.
• Collaborate with the commissioning team during the Precommissioning/Commissioning activity and assist during test.
• Inform Instrumentation Superintendent of the progress of the work with indication of the availability and efficiency of resources, reporting any additional needs, ensuring that erection works are completed.
• Collaborate with Instrumentation Superintendent to develops short term look ahead schedules.

Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of construction practical experience in Oil & Gas Plants
• Having held a similar supervisor position in the last 2 years
• Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, planning and organizing ability, critical thinking and problemsolving skills, adaptability and stress tolerance
• Must be a Team Member, Leader and a Team player with leadership, motivation and technical skills
• Should be Familiar with ISO Standards and ISA Standards (ISA 5.1, ISA/ANSI-S 84.01, ISA 12, etc.)
• Should be familiar with manufactured instrument by:

o Fisher Rosemount
o Masoneilan
o Bentley Nevada
o Vega
o Siemens
o General monitor
o Yokogawa

• High School Degree in Technical Sector (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) is a plus

• Ability to read a properly interpret Engineering Instrumentation construction drawings.
• Computer knowledges Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
