History Teacher

CLIP - The Oporto International School, accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), was established in 1990 and has approximately 1200 students, aged 3 to 18, from c.

CLIP follows the EYFS, an adapted National Curriculum for England, the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and Cambridge AS and A2 studies.

We are seeking a Middle (Portuguese curriculum, Forms 5-8) and Upper (IGCSE curriculum, Forms 9-10) History teacher for the school year to join our team.

Requirements

• Candidates must hold a university degree and teaching qualification in History.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Candidates should demonstrate qualities such as innovation, creativity, collaboration, and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and teaching engaging lessons aligned with the History Portuguese Curriculum (Form 5-Form 8) and the Cambridge curriculum standards for IGCSE.
• Providing tailored support to students with different learning needs.
• Evaluating student progress and giving constructive feedback.
• Constructing a positive learning environment and managing student behaviour effectively.
• Engaging in ongoing learning to improve teaching methods and skills.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices, develop consistent lesson plans, and support the overall goals of the mathematics department.
