Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Accountant, located in the Arganil area with flexibility for some remote work.
The Senior Accountant role is responsible for managing and overseeing the company's financial records and transactions.This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, compliance with relevant regulations, and the effective management of financial resources.
The accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the company's financial health and sustainability mission by providing accurate financial insights and maintaining rigorous financial controls.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank reconciliations.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Conduct regular audits and internal reviews to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
Support senior management with financial reporting and analysis as needed.
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
Monitor the payroll process
Your Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Chartered Portuguese Accountant (mandatory).
Proven experience (+5 years) as an accountant, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and local standards is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
