The Product Manager / Product Owner will be end-to-end accountable for managing and driving the success of a portfolio of digital solutions focused on data mining processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and a deep understanding of the mining industry. The ideal candidate will be adept at working in an Agile environment, with a proven track record of delivering innovative digital products that support operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for the digital mining solutions portfolio.
  • Align product strategy with business objectives and market needs, ensuring a clear vision and direction for product development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customers, to gather requirements and define product features.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related matters, ensuring effective communication and alignment across teams.
  • Agile Product Development:
  • Lead Agile product development teams, ensuring the effective implementation of Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Define and prioritize product backlogs, creating clear and actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and tasks.
  • Conduct regular sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings to ensure continuous improvement and delivery of high-quality products.
  • Market Analysis & User Research:
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats in the digital mining space.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback and data to inform product decisions and enhancements.
  • Product Lifecycle Management:
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and post-launch support.
  • Monitor product performance and usage metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimize product features and user experience.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed product documentation, including product requirements, user guides, and release notes.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on product status, performance, and strategic initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Experience with digital product development, data analytics, and software engineering processes.
  • Industry Knowledge:
  • Understanding or Passion of the chemical industry, including the challenges and opportunities related to data excavation and mining operations.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Leadership & Communication:
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
  • Additional Skills:
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in product management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence etc).

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or product ownership, experience in the mining or industrial sector is a plus.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile environment, with a strong understanding of Agile principles and practices.
