The Kubernetes Platform Engineer will drive the delivery and operations to deploy and scale the Kubernetes Platform.
This role serves as a subject matter expert and will join a team of like-minded engineers building and maintaining this platform for the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments (Cloud and on-premises), including multitenancy and self-service patterns, thru best-of-breed Infrastructure as Code patterns;
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Implement monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes infrastructure, container orchestration, networking, persistent storage and CI/CD;
Security and Compliance:
Implement security best practices for Kubernetes environments, including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), network policies, and container image security scanning.
Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations;Resource Optimization:
Optimize resource utilization and performance of Kubernetes clusters through auto scaling, resource allocation and performance tuning;
GitOps:
Design, implement and support GitOps deployment patterns;
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Kubernetes infrastructure, including architecture diagrams, configuration settings, and operational procedures;
- Keeps up to date on current technology trends and makes recommendations to improve the Kubernetes platform.
Qualification:
- 5+ years of experience in Kubernetes Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or similar role;
- Hands-on experience with AKS, GKE or other CNCF conformant Kubernetes distributions;
- Strong experience in cloud technologies, container security, authentication & authorization, micro-services architecture and cloud storage technologies;
- Hands-on experience in scenarios with highly secure and reliable software systems with the ability to perform continuous operation;
- Strong DevOps exposure and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing platforms;
- Excellent ability to effectively communicate technical issues both verbally and in writing;
- Motivation and ability to provide self-direction in addition to being able to work with and mentor remote and geographically dispersed team members;
- Knowledge of how emerging technologies would solve a technical problem or enhance the user experience.
