Job Description:


The E&I Supervisor is a role responsible for managing the manpower subcontractors or in direct hiring, executing the mechanical construction activity under the responsibility of E&I Superintendent.

He is responsible to supervise the compliance with HSE requirements and quality control policies and standards.

E&I Supervisor role is primarily responsible for the supervision in all scope of work of electrical and instrumentation section on construction site.

Supervise and execute the electrical and instrument installation or disassembling of Packages and Internals equipment, according to the drawings and specifications.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure to complies with all Company Policies, Procedures and Regulations in terms of Health, Safety, Environment, Security and Quality.
  • Provides leadership to cause the creation of organization to ensure the work execution in compliance to the Quality and project specification.
  • Coordination of all the activity starting from the project material receiving up to the completion of the erection activity.
  • Organize and manage all electrical and instrument activities on site, coordinating the activities of the foreman up to the helpers (subcontractors or in direct hiring).
  • Reporting utilizing the applicable forms all the activities to the E&I Superintendent in terms of progress, manpower, equipment's status.
  • Define, on time, in collaboration with the E&I Superintendent, the needs in terms of quantity and quality of resources (personnel, vehicles and materials) on site, logistic structures (reception and storage points for materials, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities Details:

  • Verify that all the E&I personnel are certified to execute specific task and all related certification FTW and training required to enter on site.
  • Assure the establishment of the E&I construction team (foreman, up to the helpers) according to HSE Company (and Clients) requirements and the quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensuring that both the health and safety project plans are apply on site.
  • Apply the waste management procedure collaborating with the HSE department.
  • Apply the stop work policy toward each project phase for activities under his responsibility or not.
  • Ensure that equipment and tools to execute the project activities are complying to the project activities in terms of quantities and quality.
  • Use of human, material and tool resources on the construction site, establishing the daily schedule of activities with the Foreman in order to maximize integration between the various work areas
  • Verify, on time, with the collaboration of the HSE department the permit to work.
  • Organizing all E&I workers (subcontractor or direct manpower) to performing the activities as required in accordance with project/vendor drawings, procedure.
  • Ensure that each part of E&I construction team (up to the helper) is capable of performing their allotted scope of work.
  • Receive and apply from the E&I Superintendent the vendor/project documentations and verify:
o Method statement
o Quality/Quantity of the consumable material.
o Quality/Quantity of the project material.

  • Collaborate with the Material Controller and Qa/Qc dept. for the inspection and test activities (if any).
  • Collaborate, on time, with Material Controller to receive the project material required for the erection and ensure the quantity and quality.
  • Manage the transportation on site of the project material and monitor the Hand-Over to the foreman (subcontractors or in direct hiring).
  • Supervise the integrity and maintenance of equipment under the using of direct manpower or subcontractor.
  • Ensure that all the personnel (subcontractor or direct manpower) are certified to execute specific task.
  • To ensure the technical rooms fabrication and equipment installation as per Approved for Construction (AFC) project drawings, specifications, procedures and site instructions
  • Verify that the site area/s is/are ready in term of:
o Availability for temporary storage project material and eventually preassembling.
o Interferences with other discipline/contractors/operation activity in case of existing plant.

  • Manage day-by-day operational aspects of electrical and instrument erection coordinating the activity according to the sequence and priority.
  • Ensure the correct implementation of the Permit to Work system and safety associated documents.
  • Prepare the report (Manhour spent, equipment and tools) required by the E&I Superintendent for the contract project activity and for any extra work required by Company.
  • Collaborate with the other supervisors (Civil, Scaffolding, Steel Structure, Hydrotest, Mechanical, Painting/Insulation, Precom. etc.) to organize the activity to avoid interference that creates dead times.
  • Collaborate with the E&I Superintendent during all project phase, to identify and solve any interference detected on site.
  • Supervision of punch list items for its closure according to the priority.
  • Collaborate with the commissioning team during the Precommissioning/Commissioning activity and assist during test.
  • Inform E&I Superintendent of the progress of the work with indication of the availability and efficiency of resources, reporting any additional needs, ensuring that erection works are completed.
  • Collaborate with E&I Superintendent to develops short term look ahead schedules.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction practical experience in Oil & Gas Plants
  • Having held an Electrical and Instrument Supervisors position in the last 3 years
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, planning and organizing ability, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, adaptability and stress tolerance
  • Previous experience in electrical and instrument supervision on fabrication yards, preassembly, or construction sites.
  • Must be a Team Member, Leader and a Team player with leadership, motivation and technical skills

Education Requirements:

  • High School Degree in Electrical and Instrumentation Sector

  • Ability to read a properly interpret engineering construction drawings.
  • Computer knowledges Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), Naviswork
