The Bosch unit in Ovar belongs to the Building Technologies division and is focused on bringing solutions to the market that are shaping the smart cities of the future. The company develops and produces innovative solutions for security and communication systems, fire alarms, electronic displays, robotic lawn mower & E-bike components. With about 1.200 employees, its success lies in the highly specialized and innovative team and technological know-how.
Job Description
As our new Software Engineer you design, implement and test the software according to specifications and architecture.
Key areas of responsibility are:
- Design, code and unit-test the software to implement part of the software in scope of the activities assigned to or selected by the Software Engineer;
- Document the design;
- Decompose the design into manageable work packages for implementation, provide estimations on work packages
- Analyze (sub)system- requirements and derive into component level (or detailed) requirements for the software to be implemented.
- Document the requirements at component level.
- Plan the order of development for work packages, focusing on achieving continuous integration
- Produce Clean Code;
- Operate according to Agile principles;
Qualifications
What do you have:
- You have a university education in computer or software science at Bachelor level or higher;
- You have at least 4 years experience in C# ( .NET Framework and /or .Net Core) and 4 years experience in C++ programming languages;
- You have fluent English language skills (verbal and written);
- You are able to work in Hybrid mode with flexibility;
- You have an understanding of the SOLID-principles and how to apply them in software design.
- Preferably:
- You have experience in the embedded programming
- You have experience in using Linux and/or FreeRTOS;
- You have experience with wireless and wired communication protocols, TCP/IP, Ethernet, Bluetooth and 802.11;
- You have specific knowledge of relevant design & modeling methods like e.g. UML
- You have an understanding of core OS concepts like multi-threading, memory management, power management;
- You have a broad interest in Software Development and are familiar with additional programming languages
- Experience with Yocto toolchain is a plus.

Hybrid regime - 2 days at the office in Ovar.
