Electrical or Mechanical Engineer

Duties and challenges

• Participation in our technology projects which convert the clean radiation of the sun into all forms of energy needed: electricity, mechanical energy, heat, cold
• Ideas and suggestions to improve the existing demonstration models and prototypes. Testing the products
• Cooperation in the search for sustainable materials to replace existing parts
• Help to produce training material.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and high interest in the use of solar energy
• Skilled craftsmanship and interest in building prototypes
• Good knowledge of English and at least basic knowledge of Portuguese

Who we are

The Hella Boccara Initiative has the goal to improve the quality of life in the Global South by helping to reduce the prosperity gap between the Global North and the Global South.

The Initiative supports the creation of autonomous and sustainable structures using solar energy as an energy source based on decentralized, low-threshold and efficient technologies.

The technologies promoted by Hella Boccara are developed in our Technology, Training and Transfer Center (TTT) in Freixo do Mejo.

The TTT is thus 'living lab'. Its crew uses the developed systems in daily live and thus contributes to their continuous optimization.
