QA Automation Engineer – Unreal Engine - Virtual Swimming Platform Lisbon, Portugal (Hybrid – remote start possible) | Full-time, Permanent Competitive salary with potential share options for high-impact talent About Us Millions of triathletes, runners, and cyclists train indoors on Zwift, MyWhoosh, Rouvy, and Peloton, but swimmers have been left behind. The Role We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer to own our testing strategy and automation systems end-to-end. This isn’t a manual testing role. You’ll design, build, and scale automation frameworks that keep our Unreal Engine mobile experiences, backend services, and connected hardware performing flawlessly. You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and product leads to: Build and maintain automated test plans for Unreal Engine 5.6 mobile builds (iOS & Android). Extend and optimize the Unreal Automation Framework (UAT / Gauntlet) for gameplay, UI, and performance validation. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Perforce, GitHub Actions, AWS). Run device-based tests to ensure frame-rate stability, responsiveness, and overall performance. Automate UI/UX validation in Unreal UMG and Figma for consistent in-game experiences. Develop custom scripts and tools (Python, Blueprint, or C++) to extend coverage and eliminate repetitive QA work. Collaborate in-person from our Lisbon HQ at least 3 days a week once settled. You’ll Bring 5+ years in QA automation or software test engineering roles. Proven experience testing Unreal Engine 4/5 projects, especially mobile. Strong scripting ability in Python, Blueprint, or C++. Experience integrating tests into CI/CD (Perforce, GitHub Actions, AWS). Deep understanding of the Unreal Automation Framework (UAT / Gauntlet). Hands-on AWS experience for build validation and test environments. Familiarity with mobile QA tools (Appium, Playwright Mobile). Understanding of Cloudflare, CloudFront, and S3 Origin performance impacts. Strong communication skills and a mindset for ownership, collaboration, and quality. Bonus Points Experience testing multiplayer or networked systems. Background in IoT or connected devices. Knowledge of API automation, load testing, or telemetry. Contributions to open-source QA frameworks. Passion for triathlon, swimming, or endurance sports — or you just love building products that help athletes improve. Our Culture We take ownership.
