Description Hertel. Robotics is developing next-generation autonomy for unmanned systems and preparing multiple real-world operations in challenging environments — including CTR-adjacent missions near Faro Airport (Portugal) . We are looking for a senior SORA / BVLOS regulatory specialist to support: A complete SORA application (incl. ConOps, risk assessment, OSO implementation, mitigations) CTR operations (20–30m) for a research client (June 2026) Compliance guidance during development of our autonomous flight stack Part-time support to our engineering team (ROS2, PX4/ArduPilot autonomy) This is an opportunity to work with a high-caliber autonomy team on a project that will be used as a reference case for future BVLOS maritime and multi-domain operations . Responsibilities Lead the preparation and submission of a full SORA package to ANAC (Portugal) Draft ConOps, PDRA analysis, Pre-Defined Risk Assessment mapping Identify SAIL level, OSO mitigations, and air/ground risk strategies Prepare all documentation required for airport-adjacent operations Liaise with regulators (ANAC, NAV) when required Advise engineering teams on compliance implications during development Provide weekly updates and clear checklists for progress tracking Prepare testing/playbook procedures for our June BETA client mission Optional: support future BVLOS and maritime SORA pathways Requirements 3+ real SORA submissions (non-negotiable) Hands-on experience with airport or CTR operations Strong knowledge of SAIL determination + OSO mapping Familiarity with PDRA-G02 and EASA Regulation 2019/947 Experience writing ConOps for unmanned systems Experience with sensor-limited or autonomy-assisted operations is a plus Technical understanding of drones (PX4, ArduPilot, UAS integration) is a plus Ability to start part-time from December Keywords: SORA, EASA, CTR, PDRA-G02, SAIL III, OSO, ConOps, ANAC
