Senior / Lead C++ Encoding Engineer - OTT / Streaming Industry Location: Remote Duration: 3 Month Minimum Time Zone: EU hours About Ovyo: Ovyo is an professional services company specializing in the satellite, telecommunications, media, and broadcasting, transportation and many more sectors. Our management team is located in the UK and Portugal and we have technical teams based across other European countries, US and India. We’re looking for a Senior/Lead C++ Engineers to drive an in-house real-time video encoding and transcoding platform. You’ll own performance-critical C++ components for encoding, packaging, encryption, and delivery of live video to millions worldwide; tune codecs across CPU and hardware accelerators; master HLS/DASH/CMAF; and ship rock-solid production pipelines. Requirements: Deep C++ expertise in performance-critical, real-time systems Hands-on experience with x264, x265, NVENC, or equivalent codec implementations and APIs Proven track record optimizing in compute-constrained environments Strong experience with build systems, binary distribution, and reproducible builds Solid understanding of OTT streaming formats (HLS, DASH, CMAF) Ideally you'll have experience in: Kubernetes Low level debugging AWS, GCP Akamai Linode Cloud tooling
