At Shakers, we’re partnering an AI-powered medical scribing platform that transforms patient–clinician conversations into structured notes. Their mission is simple yet powerful: simplify documentation and amplify care. By reducing administrative burden, improving documentation accuracy, and supporting clinician well-being, this platform is shaping the future of healthcare.We’re looking for a seasoned Backend Engineer to join an agile team and play a key role in designing and maintaining the core services that power its AI-driven platform. You’ll work with modern technologies, contribute directly to improving healthcare delivery, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and AI teams.👨 💻 What you’ll doDesign and implement backend services in Python (FastAPI preferred)Build and document clear, reliable REST APIs for web and mobile applicationsPackage and deploy services with Docker, automating deployments to AWSDesign schemas, write queries, and optimize performance in PostgreSQLManage flexible, unstructured data using MongoDBWrite tests, add logs and alerts, and monitor system performance and uptimeProactively identify and resolve issues before they impact usersCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, AI) to deliver meaningful improvements every week🧩 RequirementsStrong professional experience with Python backend development (FastAPI preferred)Hands-on experience with containerized deployments (Docker) on AWSSolid database knowledge with PostgreSQL and MongoDBProven track record of building and maintaining scalable backend servicesPortuguese and english are a must✨ Nice to haveExperience in healthcare or related industriesInterest in Large Language Models (LLMs) and NLP technologies (no need to be an expert)📌 Role detailsStart: ImmediateLocation: Mostly remote.
