Section Head, Strategic Planning

Would you like to join the leading international intergovernmental organization? As the Section Head for Strategic Planning & Operations, you will serve as a key integrator and strategic enabler within the organization. Your primary mandate is to bridge high-level strategy with effective operational execution. You will be responsible for leading the development and governance of the enterprise strategic planning process, orchestrating cross-functional resources, and facilitating collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and unified progress toward NATO's objectives. This role is central to translating strategic direction into a coherent operating model, managing associated risks, and optimizing organizational performance. Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Integration: Lead the development, implementation, and governance of the enterprise strategic planning process. Establish policies and frameworks to embed strategic management into daily operations. Operational Orchestration & Facilitation: Plan and manage the acquisition and deployment of resources to meet strategic demands. Facilitate cross-functional workgroups and stakeholder collaboration to align efforts and drive unified outcomes. Expert Advisory & Governance: Provide authoritative advice on strategic execution, business management, and financial risk. Develop and improve methodologies for risk assessment, resource management, and organizational performance. Essential Qualifications & Experience: A Master's degree at a nationally recognized/certified University in a related discipline and 5 years post-related experience. Or a Bachelor's degree with 8 years post related experience. A minimum of 4 years' experience in managing products A minimum of 2 years' experience in managing projects or services A minimum of 2 years' experience in line management of product, project or service managers Experience in customer engagement within large, complex organisations Training/Certifications: Product manager/product owner certification Training of agile ways of working like Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, LeSS, and DaD Experience in sourcing and vendor management If you've read the description and feel this role is a great match, we'd love to hear from you Click "Apply for this job" to be directed to a brief questionnaire.
