We are looking for a Senior Oracle DBA to join a team specialising in highly complex Oracle environments, with a focus on performance, resource optimisation and project delivery.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a similar field;
- 5 to 10 years of experience with Oracle Database in production environments;
- Solid experience in Oracle performance tuning, SQL/PL/SQL and resource optimisation;
- Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN and OEM;
- Experience with ExaCC/Exadata would be an advantage, as would ZFS and ZDLRA;
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix;
- Experience with Kerberos, TDE, auditing and database security;
- Knowledge of Azure SQL, PostgreSQL or Synapse would be an asset;
- C1 level English essential; French and/or Dutch would be an advantage;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders;
- Oracle OCP certification would be an advantage;
- Availability for a hybrid working type in Lisbon and legal eligibility to work in Portugal.
Responsibilities
- Optimise the performance of Oracle databases through query tuning, indexing and compression techniques;
- Optimise CPU utilisation in ExaCC environments, maximising the efficiency of allocated resources;
- Optimise backup and recovery processes in ZFS and ZDLRA environments;
- Carry out root cause analysis of performance incidents and complex database issues;
- Support and lead migration projects to Kerberos authentication and Oracle Client upgrades;
- Collaborate with development teams to define best practices for database design, SQL, performance and scalability;
- Ensure access controls, TDE, auditing and high-quality documentation;
- Collaborate with infrastructure, development and project teams on multidisciplinary initiatives;
- Contribute, where necessary, to Azure SQL, PostgreSQL and Synapse environments.
