Head of AI

At Sudolabs, we are building our AI department. We're looking for the Head of AI, who has not only technical ML expertise but also leadership and management experience, as well as a deep understanding of how AI can be leveraged to drive business objectives. You will be expected to build and lead a department of around 10-15 Data Scientists and Data Engineers. You will also actively cooperate with our executive and sales team on developing a strategy for bringing in AI-related projects. Last but not least, you will closely cooperate with our product & design team on the delivery of AI projects for our clients. Responsibilities: Build the AI department by finding and inspiring talented Data Scientists and Data Engineers to join our team Work closely with our executive team on defining strategy for AI-related projects Actively cooperate with our sales team in order to find and close AI-related projects Lead the AI department to successfully execute and deliver AI-related projects Meet with potential clients and actively work on influencing them towards cooperation with Sudolabs Actively represent Sudolabs at conferences, meetups, hackathons, etc. Who are we looking for? 10+ years of professional experience in AI/ML field Track record of leading the successful delivery of AI-related projects Experience with an end-to-end AI-related project execution for a large client or in a large organization (defined as 100+ FTEs or $50M+ revenue) Recent hands-on experience in at least one AI domain (e.g., NLP, Computer Vision, …), ideally in two with one being NLP Track record of building and leading successful engineering teams Deep understanding of AI capabilities and how to leverage them to drive business objectives Strong product-oriented thinking Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex AI concepts simply to a non-technical audience Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with the AI-related project as well as to manage client expectations in these projects Benefits and perks: Possibility to work from our office in Kosice or from wherever you like 20 paid days/year in your work time to learn new things 31 paid days/year time off Internal tech talks on a regular basis Hardware package - MacBook or anything you need Team buildings and company retreats Workations (we love to work and travel, we've already been to Tenerife, Lisbon, and Lanzarote) Sudo apartment in Kosice - for our remote colleagues who would like to spend some time with us in Kosice Possibility to purchase a Multisport card Individual or group English lessons Brand new office in the city center with parking space Pet-friendly office Regular snacks are a must, of course Once you check our careers pages, you can get a clear sense of how we work, what our values are, and what we can offer.
