We are looking for an SQL Database AdministratorResponsibilities:
  1. Database Migration Planning: Collaborate with customer to understand requirements, analyze existing database environments, and develop comprehensive migration strategies.
  2. Migration Execution: Perform data migration tasks, including schema conversion, data transformation, and data loading. Ensure seamless migration with minimal disruption to operations.
  3. Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance before, during, and after the migration. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  4. Backup and Recovery: Implement robust backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data during migration. Conduct post-migration validation to ensure data integrity.
  5. Database Upgrades: Plan and execute database upgrades as part of the migration process, ensuring compatibility and stability of applications.
Requirements:
  1. Professional experience as Database Administrator.
  2. Experience and knowledge of different SQL Server versions.
  3. Familiarity with tools of Ola Hallengren.
  4. Knowledge of reorganizing versus rebuilding indexes.
  5. Understanding of statistics and updating statistics, backup/restore possibilities within SQL Server.
  6. Recovery Model of a database and the impact on backups, log files.
  7. Knowledge of system databases: which exist and for what they are used.
  8. Understanding of SQL agent: how it works, how to configure it, possibilities.
  9. Knowledge of TDE (Transparent Database Encryption).
  10. Understanding of security: default Server roles, default database roles, application roles.
  11. Basic knowledge of high-availability solutions such as clustering, always on, mirroring, log-shipping.
  12. SQL development: T-SQL, stored procedures, scalar/table valued functions, error handling, common table expressions.
  13. Understanding of INNER versus OUTER JOIN versus CROSS JOIN, CROSS/OUTER APPLY.
  14. Transactions: commit and rollback, nested transactions.
  15. Knowledge of foreign key, unique index versus primary key, data types and their importance.
  16. Understanding of certificates and signed objects in security.
  17. Knowledge of indexes: clustered, non-clustered, covered index, filtered index.
  18. Understanding of in-memory OLTP: tables and native stored procedures and functions.
  19. Knowledge of indexed views: pros and cons.
  20. Understanding of execution plans and query store.
