Bragança site looking for a Production & Logistic Supervisor

Overall responsibilities and duties:

The main objective of the job is to manage and apply the tools available that supports logistic, has to manage the team organized in GAP's (Autonomous Group of Production).

Organization: Is responsible for 15 to 25 operators working on the same shift.

The main missions of the role are:

QCDP Performance: develops the objectives fixed and manages the necessary tools to achieve them:

  1. Propose and follow QCDP indicators (Quality, Cost, Delivery and People);
  2. Ensure the necessary training and motivate different work teams to improve performance (QRCI, 5S, etc.);
  3. Define, with the supervisors of the other shifts and with the Logistics Manager, objectives QCDP to the different GAP's: SCRAP, MPM's, PDP;
  4. Follow the GAP's performance during the shifts and report accurate data at the end of the shift;
  5. Manage resources to reach results: adapt/identify recruitment needs;
  6. React immediately in case of a problem: take care of immediate containment, call support functions if necessary, build action plans;
  7. Apply quality standards and proceedings to satisfy the final client;
  8. Participate in Pull System/Kanban deployment;
  9. Propose solutions and methodologies that contribute to optimization of processes.

People Management:

  1. Ensure daily management: Presence on the shop floor, daily contact with team members, ensure close team management;
  2. Manage teams: daily and weekly plan shift changes, absenteeism, holidays, and overtime;
  3. Coach all team members in how to perform their role;
  4. Support and help operators to solve interpersonal and operational problems;
  5. Ensure rigor and discipline (work clothes, EPI's, work schedule);
  6. Ensure respect for standards and safety instructions, policies, and procedures;
  7. Participate in selection and recruitment of staff;
  8. Ensure proper induction of newcomers;
  9. Define and manage training plan and development of team members;
  10. Manage appraisal process for all staff;
  11. Validate and manage operators' polyvalence and follow this process (evolution vs training plan);
  12. Ensure recognition of individual performance of each member of the team;
  13. Ensure accurate information to and from the team: TOP5 with GAP Leaders, regular meetings with GAP's for information exchange, quickly critical information exchange;
  14. Build, adapt and improve standardized work documents.

Health, Safety, Environment and Work Conditions:

  1. Responsible for immediately stopping the logistic mechanism in case of safety risk;
  2. Pilot and lead HSE Core Team in GAP's and follow the deployment of action plans;
  3. Guide improvements of work conditions and ergonomics;
  4. Ensure that all outsourcers know and respect proceedings;
  5. Audit outsourcers;
  6. Manage waste and empty containers park;
  7. Ensure update registers of environment management system;
  8. Ensure arrangement, cleaning, order and rigor in his/her sector (5S);
  9. Carry out the actions designated for the emergency plan;
  10. Participate in operators training for machines driving;
  11. Assure timely communication with the Plant PC & L Manager and internal clients;
  12. Participate in the department daily meeting and report performance of the GAP's;
  13. Exchange information with the supervisor of the previous shift and record the most important information;
  14. Participate with supervisors colleagues in improving the performance of UAP;
  15. Pilot Dashboard with the technical support functions.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  1. Minimum education level: Bachelor or Master in Management or Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical) (preferably);
  2. Experience: Professional preferably in an industrial environment;
  3. Skills and competencies:
  4. Good level of written and spoken English;
  5. Standardizes work;
  6. Managing teams;
  7. Ergonomics, safety and environment;
  8. 7 Delivery Basics / 7 Inventory Basics;
  9. Excel;
  10. SAP.
