As a Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer, you will be working for our client, a leader in enterprise-grade IT solutions, focused on delivering robust systems and innovative digital services. You will contribute to critical projects by developing high-performance COBOL applications, integrating APIs, and applying Agile methodologies to ensure scalable and flexible solutions for clients across diverse industries.
Your main responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize COBOL applications on mainframe platforms, ensuring high reliability and performance.
- Design and implement APIs to facilitate seamless integration across legacy and modern systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver Agile-driven development cycles, promoting continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal operation.
- Contribute to technical documentation and best practices to support ongoing system enhancements.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Uphold security standards and compliance within all development activities.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 4 years of proven experience in COBOL development on mainframe systems.
- Strong knowledge of API design and integration techniques.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools.
- Good command of English and French, both written and spoken.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Certification in Agile practices or related frameworks.
- Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and continuous integration environments.
Language required for the role:
- English: Communicative level.
- French: Proficient level.
